Working with a 40 year market leader in Construction/Civil-Engineering based excavating support equipment. With products ranging from; Shoring Equipment to fully operational excavator attachments.
After recent investment to focus on growing the division at their Derby depot, my client are now looking to expand the number of Welders to support the business function going forward into 2023.

Overview:

Provide full support to your line manager delivering excellent service, maintain and repair equipment to the minimum quality standards, as set down by the company, whilst operating within the companies policies and meeting the overall objectives of the business

Essential Skills

  • Experience in MIG-Welding is essential
  • Experience with cutting, burning and angle grinding essential
  • Ability to complete records, paperwork accurately is essential
  • Experience in the use plasma cutting/gouging
  • Able to read & understand engineering drawings
  • Capability to use Scanners, Tablets and computers
  • A reasonable level of fitness is required
  • To be flexible, trustworthy and reliable and have excellent time keeping skills is essential
  • Valid full driving licence


Preferable Skills:

  • Customer service experience
  • Working knowledge of construction/housing/civil engineering industry advantageous
  • Knowledge of shoring/hire industry
  • Mechanical qualification would be advantageous but not essential

Role Description:

  • Liaise with your line manager, to agree and understand the requirements of our customer and ensure that the highest level of service is maintained.
  • Working in conjunction with the Depot Foreman/ Leading Hand to make ready any equipment that is needed for hire on a day to day basis
  • Driving Counter Balance Fork lift truck (FLT) or Multi Directional truck (Combi) to move, prepare and store equipment (Full in-house training will be given)
  • Repairing equipment in line with level of competency, to company procedures ensuring company policies and processes are followed
  • Keep up to date and accurate repair/service/inspection records at all times
  • Ensure stock levels are maintained and quality of equipment is kept to the company quality standards.
  • Ensuring all workshop equipment is fit for purpose and safe to use. Records to be kept in accordance with company procedures and legislation
  • Have a positive attitude towards Health and Safety reporting any issues to your supervisor
  • Maintain your working environment to a high standard of cleanliness at all times
