They are currently recruiting for a suitably qualified and experienced Transport Manager to join our friendly team across multiple sites in the South East. SCOPE
Reporting to the Area Manager, or General Manager within the region, and working under the guidance of the National Logistics Manager to identify and deliver improvements to road logistics safety, customer service, operating cost and sustainable logistics efficiency's. This role will focus on the implementation and execution of the National Road Logistics strategy. The Regional Logistics Manager will ensure compliance within their geographical region for:

  • The Health & Safety at Work Act (Road Haulage activity)
  • Road Traffic Act
  • Working Time Directive for Mobile Workers
  • EU Tachograph Regulations
  • Environmental Protection Act
  • Quality assurance to ISO 9001/2000
  • EN206
  • Discrimination
  • Any other relevant legislation



Whilst carrying out specific duties of the role ensure compliance with all appropriate company policies and / or standard procedures
RESPONSIBILITES
Work alongside National Log Mngr and local teams to deliver optimised regional fleet profiles and capacity planning:

  • Provision of approved road hauliers to deliver the regional road logistics plan
  • Regional road logistics service provision and performance
  • Challenging the business on cost and efficiency performance (all businesses within the region)
  • Supporting the business to deliver efficiency plans (all businesses within the region)
  • Ensuring consistency for haulier consequence management (all businesses within the region)
  • Consistent application of haulier / driver rehabilitation (all businesses within the region)
  • Consistent and professional haulier engagement and development
  • Custodian of Road Logistics vehicle and haulier standards in the region (RMX)
  • Work collaboratively with regional operation teams to identify synergy and efficiency opportunities
  • Deliver agreed National Road load logistics service, cost and efficiency targets
  • Support new, inexperienced franchisees through induction materials and FORS accreditation
  • Monitor and manage ePOD/ telematic administrative and non-compliance issues
  • Provide logistics planning support on major infrastructure projects, e.g. HS2
  • Manage supplier service performance through internal systems and processes for incidents, complaints, company communications, special payment approvals
  • Review monthly haulier deduction variances with RMX Haulage administrator
