Role Responsibility:
Reporting to the Head of Planning, the Senior Tender Planner will collaborate closely with the Estimator and Bid Manager to prepare tender submissions, primarily within the fields of Civil Engineering, Highways, Utilities, or a related heavy engineering or manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Tender Planner will assume the following responsibilities:
Construction Programmes: Develop comprehensive construction programmes.
Safety and Environmental Focus: Prioritize Health and Safety and environmental considerations as fundamental guiding principles in planning.
Information Synthesis: Gather and summarize information to effectively communicate the project scope to stakeholders.
Methodology Definition: Define construction methods and establish project outputs in consultation with the estimator and team members, including supply chain partners where applicable.
Temporary Works and Indirect Costs: Provide the estimator with a well-justified schedule of temporary works and other indirect cost items.
Submission Material: Contribute to the preparation of written submission materials.
Tender Review Meetings: Participate in tender review meetings to provide a clear view of the work scope and intentions for project delivery.
Handover Meetings: Attend handover meetings to convey project scope and intentions for delivery, with reference to prepared material. Be willing to accept further defined tasks.
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate for the Senior Tender Planner position should meet the following criteria:
Education: Graduate and/or Chartered Civil Engineer or equivalent.
Experience: Extensive experience in various aspects of Civil Engineering, ideally at the Sub Agent level before transitioning to a Planner role.
Planning Software: Proficiency in Planning Software packages, including P6, ASTA Power project, and Microsoft Project.
Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Driving License: Possession of a full UK driving license with no more than 6 penalty points.
