Following internal reorganization, spurred by the outstanding career development opportunities our client provides, we are excited to announce openings for a Quantity Surveyor in their National Contracting Business, based at their Redhill office.
 
About the Role
 
We are seeking an ambitious individual with excellent communication skills, confidence, and a flexible approach. The ideal candidate will showcase innovative problem-solving abilities, possess the knack for effective negotiation across different levels of a construction environment, and handle the financial and commercial aspects of the role with impressive numeracy and IT skills.
 
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000

Location: Redhill, Surrey
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental objectives
  • Preparing forecasts, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, and other documentation
  • On-site measurement and measurement of drawings as required
  • Identifying potential risks and evaluating options for control
  • Ongoing cost analysis of maintenance and repair work
  • Conducting feasibility studies for client requests
  • Analyzing sub-contractor quotations
  • Preparing and agreeing on variation accounts
  • Preparing and agreeing on interim valuations and final accounts
  • Preparing and issuing certification for contract payments to sub-contractors
  • Providing evidence for dispute resolution
  • Ensuring all work complies with quality, safety, and environmental policies and company procedures
Ideal Candidate:
  • Demonstrable experience working as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Some experience in Highways, Civil, or Surfacing sectors working with the NEC form of contract
  • Strong collaborative team player
  • Tenacious approach with the ability to plan, organize, and operate under tight deadlines
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills with a strong customer focus
  • Strong IT skills
