We are currently collaborating closely with an international infrastructure provider, offering expertise to major construction projects in the UK and Europe. As a Lead Planner, your role will involve working on multiple projects during both the Tenders and Pre-construction phases, covering a wide spectrum of projects, such as Civils, Utilities, and Infrastructure Projects.
 
Key Role Deliverables:
  • Collaborating closely with the preconstruction team to formulate winning work programme strategies for tender submissions, ensuring comprehensive assessment of all risks and opportunities within the programme.
  • Foster collaborative efforts with internal and external teams.
  • Assist in building a Tender Planning Team through selection, mentoring, and development.
  • Ensure the availability of an effective and professional planning and programming service for pre-contract and project teams, maintaining consistency across all divisions of the business.
  • Lead programme meetings, whether internal or when presenting to clients, including Tenders and Live Projects.
  • Ensure functional compliance of the programme content with planning procedures and guidance.
  • Establish and agree with Operational Teams on construction outputs, key methods of construction, sequencing, installation, and commissioning.
  • Produce and document planning deliverables, including programmes, planning philosophy, presentations, and reports.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Possess a relevant degree qualification in engineering/construction or equivalent.
  • Operational experience (e.g., site engineer/agent) along with significant planning services experience in medium to large projects in the UK.
  • Prior tender planning experience.
Essential and Desirable Skills:
  • Proficient working knowledge of planning and scheduling systems such as Primavera P6, Asta, and MS Project.
  • Effective communication skills, coupled with commercial and financial awareness.
  • Strong team player.
  • Solid knowledge of the design process, procurement routes, and comprehensive construction understanding.
  • Familiarity with various performance measurement techniques, such as critical path/progress analysis.
