As a Land Surveyor you will:
  • Traveling to various locations across the country to conduct surveys, gather data, and establish works on behalf of their clients. This involves utilizing a variety of equipment such as Total Station, Laser Scanning, handheld GNSS, and Electromagnetic Location equipment.
  • Taking a proactive approach in processing survey data in accordance with the department's best practices.
  • Creating maps and plans that support a wide range of fast-paced projects and deliver them on time and within budget to maintain the company's standard.
  • Collaborating with the team to obtain, manage, and analyze data from multiple sources such as the Land Registry, Ordnance Survey, Environment Agency, Local Authorities, and Utility companies to provide the best advice and service to clients.
  • Being responsible for the maintenance and calibration procedures of the survey equipment and organizational policies and requirements.
  • Working independently on projects and requests, ensuring requirements and objectives are met, building positive relationships and taking ownership of the standard of work.
  • Being commercially aware, maintaining good records, including meeting notes, expense claims, and comprehensive file updates and records of activities to provide regular client updates.
  • Accurately assessing the time requirements of a job and confidently advising clients and surveyors.
  • Supporting the team and business development by communicating ideas for improvement.
  • Assisting in the development of more junior members of staff by mentoring, providing feedback, and participating in progress reviews where appropriate.
  • Taking a proactive approach to engage and communicate with other sectors to ensure efficient completion of Geomatics requests.
The successful candidate will:
  • Be confident in communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Possess great IT skills.
  • Have excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, be results-driven, and a keen problem solver.
  • Be able to manage a large amount of both quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Possess an RICS or TSA qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Hold a full UK driving license and demonstrate willingness to travel to site and project locations.
