To oversee designated business units in the Plant Manager's absence while adhering to company policies and meeting the agreed-upon Health, Safety & Environmental Objectives.
 
Responsibilities include:
  • Chairing staff meetings in the Plant Manager's absence
  • Competently facilitating internal and external audits
  • Liaising with senior management and external governing bodies as necessary
  • Ensuring that the designated business units meet or exceed the requirements for ISO9001 & 14001 National Third Party Accreditations
  • Adhering to My Client's Quality Plan
  • Operating the Unit in full compliance with the IPPC Permit authorized by the Local Authority
  • Ensuring that the designated business units operate in accordance with the commitments and deliver high standards of customer service
  • Managing the plant maintenance scheme
  • Managing staff holidays and providing coverage for absent staff.
 
Health, Safety & Environment
  • Ensure compliance with the Company Health & Safety Plan and promote a safety culture through Visible Felt Leadership
  • Initiate and participate in Interactive Safety Tours
  • Investigate and report all incidents, near-misses, and safety concerns to company standards, with a focus on root cause analysis and sharing best practices
  • Utilise knowledge of the company KMI system to input and analyse safety-related information and close out incidents with corrective actions
Planning
  • Stay informed of the businesses strategic direction and maintain an up-to-date Site Improvement Plan
  • Ensure plant maintenance scheme efficiency and effectiveness

Quality
  • Ensure full compliance with the company's Quality Plan, providing relevant training and coaching to staff as needed
  • Maintain the highest achievable OCL Levels (with a target of OCL Level A) and closely collaborate with the Plant Manager to investigate and take remedial action in case of any drops
 
Administration
  • Ensure adequate resources are available to meet manufacturing and customer service requirements
  • Input and analyse cycle counts from physical stock sheets to produce monthly financial data, which can be interpreted by the Accounts Department
  • Interpret monthly accounts and investigate anomalies through the internal system, providing comments on the Month End log as required
  • Run GRN and Open Order reports prior to month-end to ensure accurate financial information has been allocated and accounted for at the business unit level
  • Ensure staff are knowledgeable, experienced, and competent to authorise their duties, as per "Our Health & Safety Rules".
