Can you give us some background on your career and what led to you joining HSQ Recruitment?

Prior to joining HSQ I worked as a Recruitment Consultant, and then as an Account Manager mainly in the manufacturing and industrial sectors. I have gained customer-facing skills and an ability to provide a quality service to all candidates and clients.

The more I found out about the HSQ and the role itself, the more appealing it seemed. The culture, the career prospects, opportunities for training and development and last but not least the rewards.

I met some great people before joining the team and they seemed to have a very good relationship. Progression within the company, bonus structures, potential promotions, and team incentives, all was laid out very clearly. Moreover, the atmosphere was brilliant, and it had a real feel of work hard play hard environment.

Tell us about your role and responsibilities in the Construction Recruitment team?

My role is to source and thoroughly screen candidates for a wide range of job titles across various vacancies by actively searching the market for the best talent in the game. We operate in various construction-related industries however my initial market focus will be construction and civil engineering.

I am responsible for my own interviewing of candidates and supporting them build strong cv's, basically the whole 360 cycle of a recruitment role. I have the freedom to approach new clients and create my own portfolio of businesses and expand the vacancies I actively recruit for. I am also responsible for building my presence in the construction industry and growing my personal brand. Ultimately, I would like to build positive working relationships with the organisations I partner with and maintain a strong reputation with candidates by being credible and authentic.

How has your first month been at HSQ Recruitment?

My first month at HSQ Recruitment has been brilliant. The team is great, very welcoming, and always happy to help. The office, the atmosphere, the plans for business growth and the training program I am enrolled on are of a very high standard. I also receive on-the-job training where I am welcomed to ask questions and always receive great answers to develop my industry knowledge.

Tell us a little bit about yourself

I’m an outdoorsy kind of person, I enjoy spending my free time actively hiking, horseback riding and skiing. I like being part of a good team of people, and getting to know our teams in Leeds and at Head office has been amazing. I enjoy building relationships and meeting new people so being able to between our numerous offices gives me that.

What aspects of your role are you most excited about and what are you looking forward to?

The main aspect of my role I am excited about is winning business and supporting clients find the candidate who is the right fit for them and also helping candidates find the right fit for them and taking them through the interview process and supporting their first few months. When it gets to the point of them accepting a job offer, I am enormously satisfied for both candidate and client.

In my role, I am looking forward to building my own desk and further developing my career at HSQ.
