£100m M6 Motorway Project in Lancashire: Junction Reconfiguration and Construction Opportunity to Support Regional Growth
An exceptional opportunity awaits as Lancashire County Council announces the commencement of the bidding process for a prestigious £100m project dedicated to the reconfiguration of junctions and critical infrastructure enhancements along the M6 motorway. The extensive scope of work encompasses the relocation of north-facing slip roads on junction 33, extending their reach by an impressive 2 km towards the north. This pivotal undertaking aims to establish an efficient bypass for the picturesque village of Galgate, seamlessly integrating it with the principal highway network. Furthermore, the project entails the construction of a state-of-the-art 300-meter underpass that will elegantly traverse beneath the prominent West Coast Main Line railway, connecting directly to the esteemed Bailrigg Garden Village site. Moreover, the chosen contractor will undertake the construction of a new 2 km spine road within the sprawling Bailrigg site, facilitating seamless transportation, and an essential link between the spine road and the A588 via a magnificent new canal bridge.
