Background

We're working with one of the UK's leading national contractors who specialise across a multitude of sectors including, civil engineering, utilities and infrastructure. Due to their current level of business and their continuous expansion plans they are looking to recruit for a Site Engineer to join their experienced operations team.

In return our client is offering you as the Contracts Supervisor a starting salary in the region of £40,000 - £45,000 per annum plus a company car, an enhanced pension scheme, private medical insurance, a performance related bonus scheme and 25 days + stats holiday entitlement.

Duties & responsibilities required from you as the Site Engineer;

  • To perform a technical, organisational and supervisory role on construction projects, setting out and determining the location for above and underground infrastructural installations involved in construction operations.
  • Apply designs and plans to mark out the site and can be involved in projects ranging from £50,000 to £3 million ventures.
  • You will work as part of the site management team liaising with and working alongside, construction managers, site supervisors, quantity surveyors, operatives and subcontractors.
  • Sharing responsibility for site security, health and safety, and the organisation and supervision of material and human resources.
  • Acting as the main technical adviser on a construction site for subcontractors, crafts people and operatives
  • Agreeing a price for materials, and making cost-effective solutions and proposals for the intended project
  • Liaising with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project
  • Liaising with the local authority (where appropriate to the project) to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws



Required to be successful as the Site Engineer;

  • Experience of working as a Site Engineer in a civil engineering or ground works environment
  • HND, HNC or equivalent in either Civil Engineering or a similar discipline
  • A Valid UK Driving Licence
  • Willing to work nationwide when required
