The Role 
  • Ensuring the project from start to finish is supported and completed efficiently and effectively completed from the delivery of tender processing, negotiating and agreeing and signing of contractual terms.
  • Working closely alongside the Construction Director at a high strategic level whilst ensuring projects are reported upon accurately.
  • Ensuring project teams are conducting and reporting in a company standard manner and dealing with all information is received accurately.
  • Communicating and reporting to the commercial manager on all commercial matters.
Responsibilities and Roles within the Position 
  • To take a leadership role in the procurement of key suppliers and the negotiation of reliable / effective subcontractors 
  • Supporting the pre construction process by reviewing the contract terms, developing the commercial strategies, and accurate identification of the risks and opportunities of the project 
  • Ensuring tender handovers are detailed and accurate 
  • To manage the commercial reporting of the project from cash management to monthly CVR
  •  Taking care of the PPR process and developing plans to support the business 
  • Taking a strong lead in dispute avoidance 
  • Developing the project teams and ensuring all costing, forecasting budgeting is accurately recorded
  • Communicating and interacting with the legal / finance and buying teams 
  • Taking a lead in the management of client and stakeholder needs 

What we need from you
  • Midlands based 
  • RICS Membership or equivalent (Ideal but not necessary)  
  • BSc / MSc in quantity surveying (Ideal but not necessary)
  • Experienced in conducting / ensuring and delivery of major civil / infrastructure projects 
  • Experienced with leading major projects circa of £5million to £150million in value 
  • Strong JCT / NEC contract condition suite experience 
  • A demonstrated team leader, focused on the development of staff 
  • Knowledge of the management of opportunities and risks of a project 
  • A full UK Driving Licence
